Holy Hour of Reparation and Sanctification
A holy hour is what it sounds like - an hour that is set apart and dedicated to the Lord. While our time should always be dedicated for the glory of God, a holy hour is a period of prayer by which we devote everything to God: our will, our attention, our all. It can also be offered in the presence of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, the Eucharist, where we know He is present in almost every way as He was with the apostles, except for the visible appearance.
Reparation is how we make up for sinful actions and behaviors. In short, while Jesus made satisfaction on our behalf to Our Almighty Father by His Sacrifice, we can also offer our own prayers and sacrifices to make up for our own failures and shortfalls. Being part of the Mystical Body of Christ makes this possible, since what we offer is offered through Him. While there is forgiveness through the Sacrament of Confession, we should offer reparation to atone for what we are repentant for. We do so not only for our own sins but for others as well. (More information on reparation can be found by clicking on this link here.
Sanctification is that process by which one is made holy.
In response to the grand jury report from Pennsylvania as well as in light of the written testimony by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, a Holy Hour will be offered with the intention of making reparation for the sins of all peoples, especially clergy, as well as offering time in prayer that the Father may continually bestow His mercy upon us all as we strive to remain faithful and become the saints God has called us to be.
On First Fridays, we have all day Eucharistic Adoration that begins immediately after Holy Mass in the morning until 7:00 PM. Before Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, on Friday, September 7th, a Holy Hour will be offered at 6:00 PM, where we can offer prayers together as well as find time to be silent in the presence of the Eternal King.
Please come and consider joining us in prayer, whether for the entire hour or for however long you are able to come.
