Introduction & Basic Prayers
We cannot afford to neglect the call to daily prayer. When we cease to rely on God and His heavenly aide through the saints and angels, an implicit (and even unintentional) expression is made that we can live this life on our own, slowly sowing the sin of pride in our hearts. Whether we are in church, having lunch with a friend, giving our all in our chosen profession, attending to the needs of our family, driving on the road, exercising, or even at rest and on vacation, we represent the Church Militant on earth. Therefore, whether we choose to accept it or not, we are in constant battle. This isn't meant to make us perceive the world in which we live as one full of "doom and gloom." Rather, it calls us to be attentive to the reason of our existence. As children of Almighty God, we are called to recognize the battle in our midst - the battle for the salvation of souls which calls us to love as God loves: in truth and charity. While these prayers may seem simple and archaic, prayers to God have served the faithful well in winning unbeatable battles or gaining our ground back from the evil one.

Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. *Amen.
*Only in the recitation of the Our Father during Holy Mass is the "Amen" omitted since the prayer continues with the priest. Otherwise, the "Amen" is to be offered at the end of the Our Father.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here. Ever this day/night be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.
Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that Thou art one God in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I believe that Thy Divine Son became Man, and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.
Act of Hope
O my God, relying on Thy almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and Life Everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
Act of Charity
O my God, I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Act of Contrition (version 1)
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
Act of Contrition (version 2)
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and in failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me into sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen.
Act of Contrition (version 3)
Forgive me my sins, O Lord, forgive me my sins;
the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul,
the sins of my body; my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins;
the sins I know, the sins I do not know; the sins I have concealed
for so long, and which are now hidden from my memory.
I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial,
for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour.
I know my sins have wounded Thy Tender Heart,
O My Savior, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through
the most bitter Passion of My Redeemer. Amen.
O My Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been. Amen.
The Morning Offering
O my God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary
[kiss your Scapular as sign of your consecration to Mary (a partial indulgence)],
I offer Thee the Precious Blood of Jesus
from all the altars throughout the world,
joining with It the offering of my every thought, word and action of this day.
O my Jesus, I desire today to gain every indulgence and merit I can
and I offer them, together with myself, to Mary Immaculate,
that she may best apply them in the interests of Thy Most Sacred Heart.
Precious Blood of Jesus, save us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Fatima Morning Offering
O JESUS, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings, all that this day may bring, be they good or bad: for the love of God, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
